The FOCUS Case Competition immerses high school students in a real-world acquisitions scenario, where teams evaluate an acquirer–target opportunity and make a strategic recommendation.
Participants analyze valuation, synergies, and risk to determine whether a deal should proceed. The competition culminates in a presentation to industry judges, simulating high-stakes financial decision-making.

Awards
FOCUS offers a $1000 prize pool to the top three teams, along with a trophy.
Members of the winning team will also receive letters of recommendation from the National Co-Presidents and select sponsors.
Case Competition
FOCUS, with its emphasis on M&A, challenges you to think critically, analyze complex transactions, and collaborate under pressure to deliver clear, strategic solutions.
Participants present their recommendations to a panel of industry judges, simulating real-world dealmaking.

FOCUS offers six workshops available to all attendees, each led by experienced industry professionals and designed to develop practical skills, deepen understanding, and provide exposure to real-world applications.
Unique Events
FOCUS hosts an Opportunity Fair featuring select nonprofits and businesses, allowing attendees to connect with industry representatives.
Attendees may also receive a complimentary professional headshot at the headshot station.
